Tree Climber
Milford, MI | $300–$400/day
The Job
We’re looking for an experienced Tree Climber to join our Cut Crew. An ideal applicant is someone who can run a tree job with confidence and represent us well on-site. You’ll climb trees to remove or trim them safely, using ropes, saddles, and saws, and you’ll often be the person talking directly with customers about the work being done. This is a hands-on skill role, not a management position, but we need someone customers and crew alike can trust to get it right.
What You'll Do
- Climb trees using ropes, saddles, and proper climbing gear.
- Cut and remove branches or whole trees safely.
- Use chainsaws while climbing or working from an aerial lift.
- Direct the ground crew during rigging and lowering.
- Check trees and job sites for hazards before starting work.
- Talk with customers on-site about the job and answer basic questions professionally.
- Follow all safety rules on every job.
What We Need From You
- Solid, proven experience climbing trees and using a chainsaw safely — this is not an entry-level role
- Basic working knowledge of both single-rope technique (SRT) and moving rope technique (MRT)
- Strong knowledge of rigging, rope systems, and tree removal methods
- Comfortable and professional talking with customers face-to-face
- Able to work at heights and handle physically hard outdoor work in all kinds of weather
- A valid driver’s license and reliable way to get to work — a chauffeur’s license is a plus, or willingness to get one
- Tree climbing certification or ISA Certified Arborist credential (or working toward one) strongly preferred
A Note on Our Standards
We do not spike (climb with gaffs) trees that are being trimmed. Spiking is for removals only. If you're used to spiking live trees for trimming work, that's not how we operate.
Ground Crew Member
Milford, MI | $200–$300/day
The Job
We need a Ground Crew Member to help our tree crew. You’ll work with our climbers and crew lead on tree removals and trimming jobs. Your job is to handle everything that happens on the ground.
What You'll Do
- Run and take care of chippers, chainsaws, and other tools
- Drag brush and clear job sites
- Help with ropes and lowering branches safely
- Load and unload trucks and trailers
- Watch out for the climbers and help them when needed
- Follow safety rules on every job
What We Need From You
- Able to do hard outdoor work in all kinds of weather (lift 50+ pounds, stand and walk for long periods, work safely near equipment)
- A valid driver’s license and reliable way to get to work — a chauffeur’s license is a plus, or willingness to get one
- A team player who listens well and speaks up when needed
- Past work in landscaping, construction, or tree care is a plus — but not required. We will train you.
